Dual Study Program – Geodesy and Geoinformatics (B.Sc.)
About the role
Work-integrated dual study program in Geodesy and Geoinformatics, run by the Landesbetrieb Geoinformation und Vermessung (LGV) in partnership with HafenCity University (HCU). Practical work is about 8 hours/week, flexibly scheduled during and outside lecture periods. Responsibilities include taking part in surveying and land registry work across Hamburg, collecting, analyzing, and maintaining geodata using current professional software, working with modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital maps, contributing to projects on digitalization and urban development, and working outdoors regularly using the latest surveying technology.
Requirements
- General or subject-specific university entrance qualification (Abitur/Fachhochschulreife)
- German C1 level (spoken and written)
- Valid residence permit authorizing employment, if not an EU/EEA/German citizen
- Analytical thinking, enjoyment of math, strong spatial imagination
- Precise, curious, and enjoys solving complex problems
- Interest in technical systems and how components work together
- Interest in 2D/3D visualization and GIS
- Team player with initiative
