Software Engineer (Engineering Operations)
About the role
Join the Engineering Operations team to build processes that make Camunda 8 development faster, more reliable, and ready for an AI-first workforce. Lead the move to an automated engineering lifecycle, including AI-assisted release management, autonomous dependency updates, and proactive CVE remediation. Optimise CI and release health and development velocity using metrics. Work with stakeholders on CI strategy and engineering best practices. Turn engineering friction into automated, self-sustaining systems. Partner with software engineers and engineering leaders across teams.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience with a track record of delivering results, preferably in Java
- Specialisation in full-stack or backend development
- Passion for engineering operations: CI/CD, dependency management, release processes, metrics, and build efficiency
- Strong experience with GitHub Actions, Maven, Docker, and Shell or Python automation, ideally in monorepos
- Experience with developer experience tools and driving AI adoption
- “You build it, you run it” mindset
- Nice to have: designing cross-team operations, practical experience with Camunda or other BPMN systems
What we offer
- Annual total cash: US $143,800–$231,900; UK £90,300–£148,500; Singapore S$178,600–S$267,900. Other countries are hired via Remote.com
